About Moisture Mediation
Concrete inherently holds moister or water, especially when the concrete has just been poured and it’s at its liquid form. Concrete that has just been poured is called “Green Concrete”. It usually takes about 30 days for the moister to evaporate but can vary depending on the conditions.
By applying a handheld moister gage to the floor after it has been ground open, it gives us a snap shot of the moister content at that time. If the handheld meter shows more that 6% per square inch, we will notify the homeowner and call the designer to discuss our next step.
Two options are available at this point.
1) The homeowner can wait for the concrete to dry out by leaving the garage door open and use fans to
circulate the air. This may take several days.
2) Apply a base coat of the Moister Mediation System. This product will guarantee that moister will not become an issue for the life of coating.

Moisture Mediation is a system we apply to floors with moisture higher than a 6% rating.

Moisture is a big issue and causes garage floor systems to not bond correctly and peel.

After we ground smooth the concrete, we apply a layer of Moisture Mediation. It takes about 24 hours for the Moisture Mediation layer to dry. So if your floor needs the layer, the team will return the following day to finish the coating.
-
The Moisture Mediation Layer cost $2 per square foot.

If you decide to forgo the Moister Mediation System, we will not be able to warranty the garage floor coating. Meaning we can not guarantee it will bond successfully to the concrete, with a possibility of peeling. You will have to sign a waiver saying you waive the Moister Mediation System and accept no warranty.
